7. The Water Dialogues-SA Chris Hani CS

This is the seventh chapter in the series based on the DVD entitled “Enhancing Delivery through Dialogue” which captures the process, and outcomes of The Water Dialogues South Africa. It is based on a visit to the Chris Hani District Municipality in the Eastern Cape in February 2009 where the case study focused on the four areas where the Chris Hani District Municipality uses Community Service Providers for all operations and maintenance. It includes interviews with the District Municipality staff, Amatola Water Board, Rural Support Services and Lesley Steele. Febbie Masango facilitated interviews in the community and provided photographs of community meetings. The Water Dialogues-South Africa (WD-SA) is a national multi-stakeholder dialogue process and research project analysing the role of the public and private sectors in the delivery of universal water and sanitation in the country.
