Amid widespread poverty, farmers in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are struggling to protect the land on which they depend for their livelihoods.
This collection of stories illustrates how rural communities from across the region are collaborating with scientists and advisors from the Sustainable Land Management in the High Pamir and Pamir-Alai Mountains (PALM) project to preserve this unique landscape and its globally important biodiversity.
