Pangra

This video shows the story of the village Pangra in Beed and Sampat Misal, where inhabitants travel at least 25 kilometres to avail of any medical, educational or civic facility.
In 2001 the neighbouring village started a water shed program. After observing the positive impacts of this program on the other village, Pangra villagers decided to adopt a watershed program as well. This video shows the process of the water shed program. Gramsabha (common village meeting) plays an important role during this program as important rules can be set during these meetings (e.g. a ban on free grazing).
