Description

WHAT IS MOTODESTINO?
This project arose from two people interested in water issues: Sebastian Hardy (Hydraulic engineer) and Pedro Matias. In 2009, they left everything to travel by motorcycle from Argentina to U.S. in order to collect empirical data on freshwater issues. The idea is to complete  a tour around the world looking not only data but also raising awareness.

WHAT IS THEIR  GOAL?
The main idea of Moto Destino - Freshwater Project, is traveling to know empirically the reality of water. Why motorcycle? it gives them the ability to reach people, big cities varied geographical areas in order to gather information and compare these data with the theory about the water crisis. The next stage is Africa and Europe, the idea is to start the journey from south africa and from there up the Indian Ocean coast to Morocco and go to Europe.

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE  SO FAR?
They toured 14 countries, 300 cities and more than 60,000 km in 15 months, with their own resources, helping people, learning, documenting and creating awareness of the reality of water in America. During the trip they contacted companies and institutions that allowed them, among other things, deliver portable potabilisation filters in remote locations. They also have delivered the message through the media in different countries.

WHY TRAVEL?
The intention of these trips is to know what happens to the water in different parts of the world, generating the largest database possible to edit an educational book for children.  Achieving the dissemination of the subject in the media, educational institutions and other water organizations interested in the character of this adventure and of course, in a sustainable use of water resources.
