Description

Cary Lowe is a Land Use & Environmental Attorney recently appointed to the City of San Diego Water Policy Implementation Task Force! Cary Lowe has over 35 years of experience representing developers, builders, public agencies, Indian tribes and non-profit organizations, in connection with a broad range of land use and environmental issues. 

Mr. Lowe holds a Ph.D. in urban planning and has been admitted to the American Institute of Certified Planners. He has taught courses in law and urban planning at the University of Southern California, UCLA and UC San Diego, and he writes and lectures regularly on land use and environmental issues, including water issues. In addition to his legal practice, he is a credentialed mediator affiliated with the Land Use & Environmental Mediation Group of the National Conflict Resolution Center. He has served in several appointed government positions, including as Chair of the City of South Pasadena Community Redevelopment Commission, as Chair of the City of San Diego Wetlands Advisory Board, as a Trustee of California Indian Legal Services and as Chair of the San Diego City Council Water Policy Implementation Task Force. 

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
