In a densely populated and fast growing region like Asia the pressure on water resources is rising. In addition, climate change and pollution force national governments in the region to take action. The second edition of the Asian Water Development Outlook - Measuring Water Security in Asia and the Pacific by ADB and the Asia-Pacific Water Forum provides the first comprehensive overview of water security in the region. It focuses on save water and sanitation for households, the effective use of water in industry and agriculture, water management in cities, healthy ecosystems and resilience to natural disasters.
