7 billion and counting! What does that mean, water-wise?
Last week, the population clock struck 7 billion... and then continued to tick.
That’s a lot of people! And, at this rate, there are going to be 3 billion more by the end of the century.
The environment, natural resources such as water, and sanitation infrastructure around the world are going to come under more and more stress. The following videos highlight some of the many ways in which demographic pressures have affected them so far. And a few creative solutions that have emerged in response.
