‘Water and Change’: Webinar on August 15
Over the years, the agenda of the ‘water community’ (policymakers, practitioners, private sector, users) has expanded in response to emerging challenges- such as increasing demands, the need for cost recovery, environmental integrity and climate change.
Currently Programme Leader (Water and Peace) at the University of Peace, Henk van Schaik has worked on water/sanitation projects and international policy for over 40 years. Over that period, he’s seen the focus of the water agenda evolve from rural supply and health in the 1970s, to climate change impact and adaptation in the early 2000s. In the coming decade, he reckons that themes like ‘water and peace,’ ‘new water allocations for green growth’, and ‘water & cultural heritage’ are set to assume greater importance.
Henk will discuss all this at a webinar on August 15, 2012 at 1330 hrs GMT. It is free to attend and open to all.
