This video describes the Solar Steam Pump being developed by Practica Foundation, The Netherlands. The pump uses solar energy to turn water into steam. The thermal energy thus generated is converted to mechanical energy that powers a pump. The pump can draw water from depths up to 15 metres. The steam is recycled back into water, which can then be reused.
