Clay and Water

This video showcases how the people of Mali have combined Clay and Water to produce fascinating rural and urban architectural landscapes. The use of these materials is based on the logic that they are easily available locally, and most appropriate with respect to the local climate.

Clay is considered to be a non-durable and a not-so-noble material. However, some of these buildings are as grand and longstanding as some of the more celebrated mosques and cathedrals across the world hailed as architectural wonders.
