River Restoration on the Hampshire Avon

A once-beautiful chalk stream in Southern England was reduced to biological ruin in the early 1960s, as the post-war agricultural revolution ushered in.

This is an account of how Cain Bio-Engineering designed and implemented a successful intervention,to rehabilitate this part of the River Avon, right from its physical form down to its ecology and bio-diversity.
