The Sundarbans through photos
Every centimetre of sea level rise is directly felt here at the low-lying Sundarbans – the world’s largest mangrove forest, and an income source for millions of local citizens. The lives of millions of people are constantly at risk of coastal erosion, salinization, mega cyclones, and flooding. We talk to award-winning photographer Supratim Bhattacharjee about life at the climate forefront. Living next to the Sundarbans, Supratim takes provocative photos to portray climate change impacts and how the people of the Sundarbans are dealing with them on a daily basis.
