The Nile is one of the longest rivers in the world, irrigating many of the African countries from Uganda to Egypt; and is today the core reason of the so-called ‘water war’. It was and is still a source of conflict especially that Ethiopia plans to create four large dams in the area of tension. The conflict is predicted to explode due to population growth and global warming.
Conflicts over water caused the outbreak of 37 water crisis over the past five decades. If poor countries can’t control or put an end to its threatened water sources farmlands-looting by rich countries, this number is highly predicted to increase.
