Drop By Drop

The video demonstrates how irrigation technology is not just an agricultural tool, but a factor that affects all dimensions of rural well-being. For farming communities near Kitui, Kenya, installation of ‘family drip systems’ helped them (1) save water, (2) save time and energy, (3) increase productivity and incomes, (4) create new jobs, (5) improve public health. Achieving this, however, required that the implementing agencies (Netafim/ Agrosphere) invested in capacity building, and ensuring that the technology was integrated holistically within the target community.
