Waste management is one Addis Ababa’s chronic problems to date. This new waste to energy plant uses 95% of Addis Ababa and convert it to clean and renewable electricity for the city. It is expected to meet 35% of the city’s energy demands. This waste to energy is the first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa.
