Fog Harvesting: Water Close Up

Dar Si Hmad’s flagship project harvests the fog that comes into the Anti-Atlas Mountains, providing rural villages in Aït Baamrane with potable water piped into their homes for the first time.

North Africa’s largest fog collection system provides around twelve cubic metres of water a day, increasing villagers’ water availability from 8 to 30 liters of water per person per day. Dar Si Hmad’s Water School, Girls’ E-Learning, and Women’s Capacity-Building programs ensure that the time and energy saved empower the entire community in sustainable ways.
