Fog water harvesting – Social impacts

Fog water harvesting is currently used in many arid and semi-arid areas of the world. Experiences from the field show us that fog water collection is useful to address a wide range of contemporary problems: droughts, climate change, and depleting water resources. Researchers also found that fog collection systems also bring positive social impacts to the communities, such as to reduce labor needs for women and girls.

This time, the WaterChannel provides you a series of practical video guidance on how to design, setup and operate fog water harvesting. This fourth video in the series discusses social impacts of fog water harvesting, given by Dr. Jamila Bargach, Anthropologist, Executive Director, Dar Si Hmad Association.
