Halfway through the ‘Seeds for Needs’ project in Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea is a country experiencing the effects of climate change and is affecting over 80% of the population because of their dependence on subsistence agriculture.

By working with partners, local communities and women’s groups in Papua New Guinea, Bioversity International in partnership National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) is facilitating an opportunity for the farmers of this country from falling deeper into poverty.

Much foundation work has already been completed in this first phase of this Seeds for Needs in Papa New Guinea.

Now almost a year-and-a-half into the project, some significant events for this project has taken place, and milestones are being reached.
