The Igunga Eco-Village project is part of the Global Climate Change Alliance Tanzania, funded by the European Union.
The project has provided tree seedlings to targeted communities suffering from unpredictable rainfall in the Tabora region, in northwest Tanzania. Once the tree nurseries are established, the communities are expected to thrive by themselves. Many villagers have started to generate an income from establishing successful tree nurseries. They receive expert help from the project and district authority.
