(MESMA: Monitoring and Evaluation of Spatially Managed Areasa )
MESMA is a European FP7 project on the evaluation of marine spatial management (2009-2013) in which IMARES works with other partners. The MESMA method consists of a framework that reviews how the management initiatives in a certain area were established, a governance analysis, tools and spatial data. We use 9 different case studies to test our method.
