Micro Basins

Micro-basins, also known as ‘half-moons’ are semi-circular stone bunds enclosing plants of agroforestry value. These structures trap run-off and make soil and water settle down and feed the plant.

They have been employed at a large scale in Ethiopia and to good effect, as this video from Tigray province shows.
