Muskusratten vormen door hun gegraaf een gevaar voor de veiligheid van onze dijken. De schade die door muskusratten veroorzaakt wordt, is op dit moment alleen te voorkomen door de muskusratten te vangen en door de populatie zo klein mogelijk te houden. Dat is een taak van de waterschappen. Deze film geeft een kijkje in het werk van de muskusrattenbestrijding.
ENGLISH:Dikes are key to water management and flood protection in low-lying countries like The Netherlands. Musk-rats dig through dikes, making them fragile and thus increasing the risk of flooding to communities and agricultural areas. The only measure against this problem involves trapping as many musk-rats as possible and keeping their population limited. In The Netherlands, this task is entrusted to the water boards. This movie provides a glimpse of how they go about this important task.
