In the dry Tigray region of Ethiopia, every drop of water has to be used by the farmers to realize a harvest. Construction of overnight storage facilities allows the farmers to collect and store river water, which otherwise would have been passed unused. Farmers in Hagre-Salaam, featured in this video, have managed to double the cropping area by using such overnight storage arrangements.
