Participatory science in the Tana Delta (Kenya)

(A 25 minute documentary by the Kenyan filmmaker Khamis Ramadhan.)

The Tana Delta in Kenya is a wetland of exceptional value but faces many challenges (reduction of the flood pulse caused by upstream hydropower dams, conversion of the land to large-scale irrigation schemes for biofuel production, etc.).

A team of Kenyan and French scientists from the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) and the Kenya Wetlands Biodiversity Research team (KENWEB) conduct multidisciplinary and participatory research to explore the possible futures of the Tana Delta.
