Rock Dust and Biochar as a Strategy for Carbon Sequestration

Dr. Thomas Goreau, President of the Global Coral Reef Alliance and Coordinator of the UN Commission (SIDSPINST), has published around 200 papers on global climate change, the global carbon cycle, stabilization of atmospheric CO2, tropical deforestation and reforestation, microbiology, soil science, atmospheric chemistry, mathematical modeling of climate records and other fields.

In this discussion, he talks about the the importance of proper soil management in stabilizing the climate, on using rock dust in combination with biochar as an effective strategy to sequester carbon, and a study done in Panama on the increased growth of trees remineralized with basalt rock dust.
