Globally, rodents are responsible for loss of upto 30% of standing and stored crops. Chemical rodenticides have inclement effects on the environment, and on non-target species such as pets and livestock. Besides, their effectiveness diminishes over time, and rodents are able to identify and avoid them.
Developed in Ethiopia using botanical ingredients, the Rodent Green Biorodenticide is an improvement upon chemical rodenticides in these regards. Besides, it can be locally manufactured and marketed; it’s availability is not at the mercy of the ebbs and flows of the global supply chains. This innovative product was winner of the 2021 Olam Prize for Innovation in Food Security.
