Room for the River, De Tollewaard, floodplain excavation

Just downstream of Rhenen is an elongated floodplain containing a lovely old secondary channel: the Tollewaard. The water level will decrease during very high water by reducing the embankment of the quay and the ground level in the floodplain. The accessibility to the former stone factories will remain and the Tollewaard will become a nature reserve.
