Room for the river: Lowering the cribs at the curves of the Midden Waal, Fort St Andries and Beneden

Because the bed of the river has been deepened for the last 100 years, the cribs are actually higher than necessary. By lowering the cribs the water will drop during high water. The lower cribs will be under water for a large part of the year. The sandy beaches will remain.
