Historically, a variety of factors—intensive irrigation, heavy rainfall, inappropriate farming practices, overgrazing etc.—have worked in tandem to make soil erosion a serious concern in rain-fed areas of the region. This 1985 documentary chronicles the various dimensions of the problem at that time, and what communities/ the government had been doing to cope.
