The world’s population is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050. By 2050 the global food demand is also expected to double. However, agricultural resources like water is becoming scare, soil is becoming less productive and agricultural runoffs full of pesticides and nutrients are becoming the major sources of pollution. In the middle of all this dilemma, vertical farming is emerging as the answer to these convoluted issues. Could vertical farming be the future of our planet?
