This EMPOWERS video addresses local water governance in Jenin district (north of West Bank) and discusses water shortage, security and the political situation which all influences water governance. This video shows interviews with the Palestinian Water Authority, villagers, farmers, Maithaloun clinic and EMPOWERS employees.
EMPOWERS is a regional partnership of fifteen organizations allied together to improve long-term access to water by local communities. EMPOWERS advocates stakeholder-led activities to empower local people in integrated water resources management and development.
EMPOWERS 4-year (2003-2007) project is mainly funded through the European Union’s Regional MEDA Water Programme for Local Water Management. EMPOWERS is being implemented in Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine.
