On March 28, MetaMeta hosted the MasterClass “Improvement of Water Productivity in Mega Irrigation schemes”. The large variety in background of the 5 presenters shed different lights on the concept Water Productivity. From mega systems in Sudan and Pakistan (Frank van Steenbergen), drainage challenges in Bangladesh (Judith de Bruijne), live data measurements (Cor Verbruggen), pro-poor concept of Water Productivity (Jeroen Vos) to remote sensing based crop water productivity (Xueliang Cai).
Download the presentations of the MasterClass:
- Managing Mega Irrigation System: the large potential (Frank van Steenbergen, MetaMeta)
- Drainage in Bangladesh and farmer solutions (Judith de Bruijne, Mott MacDonald)
- Improving food security: Instruments used in mega-irrigation (Cor Verbruggen, Eijkelkamp)
- Large scale irrigation in Peru and the concept of Pro-poor Water Productivity (Jeroen Vos, WUR)
- Remote sensing based crop water productivity for investment in and management of mega irrigation systems in Asia (Xueliang Cai, IHE Delft)
