This video is the first part of a series of videos consisting of three parts discussing the new implemented water management projects in Wadi Qaradha of Bani Hoshais district in Sana’a, the challenges faced, and the ancient irrigations systems.
In this video, good practices are discussed. Check dams were implemented in that area resulting in slowing down the speed of the flood which used to move rapidly and extremely quick; giving no chance for the underground to recharge. In the other side, almost all farms had been damaged by the flood before the implementation of the project. After the project had been implemented, the underground water table increased. The check dams turned out to be a successful story to be told!
