SWAR is a measured irrigation system that applies precise amounts of water to the root zone of plants, improving water use efficiency and soil biology. Unlike above-ground drip irrigation systems, it goes deep into the rootzone, applying precise amounts of moisture and fostering the growth of micro-organisms which help boost plant growth. Often, the system includes application of microbial inoculants– microbe-rich organic material– that help kickstart microbial growth.
