Biodiversity finance is a kind of finance which aims to support sustainable biodiversity management. It involves raising funds and offering financial incentives to encourage actions that help the environment. In December 2022, a global agreement called the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework was made to tackle the loss of biodiversity. This agreement set a big goal: by 2030, we need to stop and reverse biodiversity loss. However, this goal cannot be achieved without the private sector and private capital.

In this video, Dorothy analyses the opportunities of this finance, and also the many risks that it can entail, from a social and ecological point of view.
