Farmers tell their stories: A water-saving tool in the rice field

Two farmers from South Sulawesi, Indonesia, share the benefits that their farmers’ groups have experienced after adopting alternate wetting and drying (AWD), a water-saving technology that allows the rice field to be left dry for a few days then reflooded. They demonstrate how they prepare and use a field water tube to monitor and measure the water depth in their field. They use this tube as a guide to let them know when to irrigate their field.
