In the heart of Lebanon, innovation is blooming despite of all the challenges. Musa, a farmer and entrepreneur who is growing azolla, a tiny aquatic plant, to support his farm in a sustainable way. Inside simple tunnels, he cultivates azolla, a natural source of protein for his chickens. By feeding azolla to his poultry, he reduces the need for expensive commercial feed and keeps his flock healthy, naturally. But that’s not all. Musa also uses azolla as a powerful green manure, mixing it into the soil to improve fertility and boost crop yields. A simple idea, a big impact showing how traditional wisdom and small innovations can create more resilient farms.
