Journalist Joseph Abuje finds out whether the proposed sugar cane projects in the Tana Delta will be an economic opportunity for local communities or a humanitarian and ecological disaster.
He starts in Kipini where the Tana river enters the Indian ocean and travel upstream to learn about the effects of the sugar factory on the people and the ecology. He interviews fishermen, pastoralists, villagers, sugar cane outgrowers and displaced people along his journey.
