Irrigation in Amhara RiverCode

Farming community in livelihood development regions lacks self-reliance and individual-vision. This code clearly described to them how to think and act of individual effort as the foundation for development. It helps them to think of different options for development with minor guidance and support. After discussion with this play they clearly understood only facilitated support and guidance is required. It is well known that Ethiopia has a farming community of more than 90% of the population. Hence, synergy among this community to tap all opportunities starting from individual efforts is critically important and thereby helps to bring change for fighting poverty.

The role play demonstrates either of the values of self-reliance, vision, coordination, planning together, visibility of challenge, equity and inclusiveness, urgency, and unity for collective development, and turned out to be extremely effective tools to connect to the community.
