The ‘Barsha’ Pump pumps water from a flowing river, stream, or canal to agricultural fields at a higher elevation. It does not use fuel or electricity; it runs using the kinetic energy of the flowing water.
The pump has been designed and developed by aQysta, a Netherlands-based company. It has been introduced in the Nepal market with support from the Securing Water for Food programme.
