The tube recharge is a system that can annually infiltrate 50 to 500 m3 of rainwater into the ground. Material costs 10US$. It is normally installed near wells that dry up at the end of the dry season. Families in Ghana and Tanzania who installed a Tube recharge now have water in their hand-dug well, whereas before, that well was dry 3 months per year.
