UrbanFlood Information video

UrbanFlood is a European funded project (which started in December 2009 and has already finished) that investigates the use of sensorswithin flood embankments to support an online early warning system, realtime emergency management and routine asset management. It involves many countries with concepts to support routine asset management, which includes the regular inspection of dikes, will also be considered. Safer dikes are not only stronger but also smarter dikes.

This video is the presentation on the FloodRisk 2012 congres in WTC Rotterdam The Netherlands – Flood Defences Sessions.

STOWA (Dutch acronym for the Foundation for Applied Water Research) was founded in 1971. The foundation coordinates and commissions research on behalf of a large number of local water administrations. The bodies which contribute to the STOWA are the 26 water boards, the provinces and the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.
