Description

Microclimates are conditions created by the interplay of climatic factors such as air and soil temperature, air humidity, soil moisture and wind … at local levels and influencing the climate at landscape, watershed, or even field-level. Microclimate defines local-level conditions and, in turn, can be managed through local-level interventions.

Among other things, Microclimatic conditions can shape soil microbiology- i.e. organisms in soils and their effect on soil properties such as fertility and water soil microbiology affects soil fertility, agricultural productivity, and therefore livelihoods and resilience of communities.

What do we know about the interplay between Microclimate and Soil Microbiology? How can microclimate management interventions help keep soils healthy, productive, and resilient?

At a webinar on August 30, 2017 (Wednesday), Fabricio del Rio Valdivia (MetaMeta Research) will discuss this through cases and examples from around the world.
