Je m'appelle Rova et j'habite à Ankasina, un quartier d'Antananarivo, la capitale de notre belle île de Madagascar ! On pourrait qualifier notre quartier de bidonville, mais nous l'appelons ici Ambany tanàna, ou « bas-quartier » en français. Ce nom a une histoire : autrefois, les rois et les reines, leur cour et les personnes riches et puissantes vivaient sur les hauteurs. Tandis que les travailleurs pauvres cultivaient le riz dans les parties basses et inondables du pays pour les nourrir. Aujourd'hui, la plupart des quartiers pauvres d'Antananarivo se trouvent dans ces basses terres qui sont encore inondées de nos jours, comme vous pouvez le voir sur les photos. La plupart des bas-quartiers sont des quartiers très vulnérables, souvent informels et habités principalement par des familles pauvres qui n'ont généralement qu'un accès très limité à l'emploi, à l'éducation ou à la santé.
