Castro “No Water” For Guantanamo Base (1964)

Castro’s pipelines cut on Guantanamo

Castro embarrassed the US Navy base in Guantanamo by cutting down his water supply to a trickle. Next to this so-called retaliatory action, Castro says base commander Rear Admiral John Bulkeley was somehow tapping from Cuba’s rivers. The Admiral denied this. After Castro called him a liar, Bulkeley makes a public ceremony out of cutting the water mains between the US base and the Cuban water to prove the base does not need to use the Cuban Water.
