Harvesting ‘Road Water’ in Malawi: Opportunities Ahead

In southern Malawi, heavy downpours during the rainy season causes much damage to rural roads. This is largely due to lack of drainage along roads.
This situation can be turned on its head, by building structures that help not only drain the road runoff but also harvest it for use in irrigation and groundwater recharge.
