Muzafargarh Floods

Muzafargarh district in Punjab (Pakistan) suffered badly after the embankments protecting Taunsa barrage had to be broken – to save this structure and flood water poured in to the area, forcing the breaking of more embankments within the area. Moreover wedged in between two rivers it received flood water not only from Indus but also from Chenab. As a result two weeks after the floods water is still pouring into this lowlying area.
