Rooftop rainwater harvesting is picking up in rural Karnataka, India as people realise the advantages of a good, clean water source at the doorstep. Especially when there is no electricity to pump water from borewells, rainwater proves a boon. With a bit of care it can be made potable and used for drinking and cooking too.
