It’s time to tell Governor Brown that a peripheral canal is a bad idea for California. Stop and Think, a new video from Salmon Water Now looks at the consequences of living on the edge of a desert. The video is about moving water from where it falls, to where it does not. The consequences of accommodating people’s choices to live in places with very little rainfall are now threatening the San Francisco Bay Delta estuary’s overall sustainability. Governor Brown seems committed to moving forward with the plan to add a peripheral canal to California’s already massive plumbing system. Salmon Water Now along with many other organizations, and people who care about the fragile Delta ecosystem, are asking the Governor to stop and think. Stop and think about what such a project will do, and why it’s promoters are so intent on making it happen. It’s time to tell the Governor to kill the canal. This video makes that case. Watch it, share it, and most importantly, ask Governor Brown to pull back from the edge.
