The Nile Basin Environment: Endangered Lifeline

The Nile Basin is host to the longest river in the world – the Nile River. It is a source of livelihood to over 160 million people who reside in the ten Nile Riparian countries that extend from Central Africa to the Northern African States. Due to various environmental factors, the nile River basin is under threat. This educational video documents the key threats that the Nile Basin environment is facing across the borders of the ten countries. It also profiles some of the interventions pioneered by the Nile Basin Initiative to arrest the threats across borders through the Nile Transboundary Environmental Action Project (NTEAP).
